Privacy Policy
Juan Fernando Juliao, an individual (sole proprietor) ("we") runs Mayday Control. This page explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account data: first and last name (seen only by the Mayday Control team, never by other players), username, email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider, never readable by us), and date of birth.
- Parental consent status for players aged 13 to 17.
- Membership data: whether you are a member, when it ends, and your Stripe customer ID.
- Free-trial usage: which levels' trial games you have used.
- Game progress: single-device games are saved in your own browser. Online games are stored on our servers while the room exists, and the result (winner, level, players' usernames and number of turns) is kept as game history.
- Chat: messages you send in room chat (kept about 30 days) and reports other players make about messages (kept longer, for safety).
- Optional profile settings: a country you may choose, shown next to your name when you win a public game (never shown for players under 18), and whether you want an email when someone opens a public room (off unless you turn it on).
- Text alerts (only if you sign up): your mobile number, the time you agreed and the wording you agreed to, the time zone your browser reported (to hold texts back at night), which alerts you chose, and a record of the texts we send for up to 30 days. We do not send text alerts to players under 18.
- Game emails: if you are away from a room when it is your turn, when half your turn time has gone, or when a sealed bid is waiting, we email the address on your account (at most 8 a day). We do not send these to players under 18. Every email has a link to switch them off, and so does your account page. We keep a record of the emails we send for up to 30 days.
What we do not collect
We do not see or store your card number; Stripe handles it. We do not sell your data or show third-party ads.
Why we use it
To run your account, check your age, give access to paid levels, process payments, prevent abuse, and contact you about your account.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase – accounts, database and sign-in.
- Stripe – payments and billing portal.
- Cloudflare – website hosting and delivery.
- Resend – sends the game emails described above.
- Telnyx – sends the text messages described above, for players who sign up for them.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
We do not sell your mobile number, and we do not share it or your text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers are shared only with the provider that delivers the texts.
Classes
An instructor approved by us can create a class. If you join a class with its code, the instructor can see your player name, when you joined, the class games you played in, and the results of those games, including the game summary report. The instructor cannot see your email address, date of birth or country. A game counts for a class only when the host links the room to that class. You can leave a class at any time on the Classes page, and the instructor can remove you. Results of games already played for the class stay available to the instructor.
Children
Players must be 13 or older. We refuse sign-ups from under-13s. Players aged 13 to 17 may only use the Game with a parent or guardian's agreement to our Terms. A parent may contact us to review or delete a child's data.
Retention
We keep account data while your account is open. Chat messages are deleted after about 30 days. Payment records are kept as required for tax and accounting law.
Your choices
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data by emailing support@maydaycontrol.com. Residents of some places (for example California or the EU/UK) have additional rights.
Cookies and storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to save game progress. We do not use advertising trackers.
